HISTORY OF MFM
Daniel Kolawole Olukoya began what would become the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries in 1989 shortly after completing his Ph.D. in the United Kingdom and while working at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research. He started with a small prayer meeting in his living room attended by 24 people. As reports of answered prayers, testimonies, and spiritual experiences spread, attendance grew rapidly, leading the group to relocate from his home to a larger venue at Old Yaba Road in Lagos.
The growing fellowship later acquired an abandoned property at Onike, Yaba, which was transformed into the international headquarters of the ministry. The name “Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries” was reportedly revealed to Dr. Olukoya during prayer, and the church held its first official service on April 24, 1994. Continued growth brought challenges of accommodating large numbers of worshippers, prompting the ministry to adopt a strategy of establishing branches across Nigeria and beyond.
Today, MFM is recognized as one of the fastest-growing churches of its generation, with branches spread throughout Nigeria and across the world. Its international expansion began in London and later extended to the United States, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia, making the ministry a globally visible and influential Christian organization.
MISSION AND VISION
